Despite previous announcement saying that “Ugly Betty” is going on hiatus, ABC reportedly reveal their plan to renew the fourth season of detthe TV series starring America Ferrera. Spilling the beans to public is Entertainment Weekly, which unfortunately has no further ails on how the TV series will get its renewal.

Beside planning to renew the fourth season of “Ugly Betty”, ABC have also reportedly approved the filming of another season for “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Brothers & Sisters”, “Extreme Makeover Home Edition”, “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “The Bachelor”. However, the net “is not ready to announce any pick-ups at this point,” the network’s publicist says.

Officials at U.S. TV network ABC have slammed rumours claiming that hit TV series Ugly Betty will be cancelled.

ABC had announced that the programme, starring America Ferrera, will be taken off-air in March, prompting fears that the series would be axed following the season three finale.

However, TV executives have now issued a statement assuring fans the show will be back.

“Ugly Betty will return following the run of In the Motherhood and Samantha Who? The Thursday night block is a good opportunity to launch these comedies. That said, Betty is a solid performer and there is no question that it will definitely be back to complete its season, just without repeats.” The Daily Express quoted an ABC spokesperson as saying. The GLAAD Media Awards - will be presented at three separate ceremonies: in New York on March 28, in Los Angeles on April 19 and in San Francisco on May 9.
