Emmy- and Golden Globe-Award winning actress America Ferrera, star of ABC Television’s popular series Ugly Betty, is Save the Children’s newest Artist Ambassador. In her new role, Ferrera will help champion the importance of education for children in marginalized communities in developing countries and the United States.

As Save the Children’s Artist Ambassador, Ferrera presented an award yesterday at the Clinton Global Citizen Awards ceremony. The awards ceremony, part of the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting held this week in New York City, honors individuals whose achievements have inspired change and made a positive impact on the world. Warner Bros. will release “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2″ on DVD & Blu-ray this November 18th. The film stars Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, and Amber Tamblyn.

Extras will include: “Additional Scenes,” “On-set Bloopers and Jokes,” and “Go Jump Off A Cliff: How the Exhilarating Final Sequence - Not Originally in the Script - Was Inspired By Fan Reaction to the First Movie.”

The fashion industry, they say, is a dog-eat-dog kind of place. And on this sunny Friday afternoon, America Ferrera is in blissful agreement.

A litter of 8-week-old Samoyed puppies has invaded the Queens set of ABC’s “Ugly Betty,” and no one’s more ecstatic than the show’s star.

Spotting one of the white furballs, Ferrera leaps off her chair, ditches her iced coffee and her BlackBerry, and rushes to pick up the pup she had staked out earlier and dubbed Buddha. Ferrera promptly asks a bystander to use her phone to snap her holding the dog, so she can send the picture to her boyfriend, Ryan Piers Williams.  Full Story Here »

Don’t forget to watch the premiere episode of Ugly Betty tonight at 8pm on ABC. If you can’t watch Tivo or DVR it. If you can’t do either I’m sure ABC will have it on their website sometime Friday.

Episode 1 The Manhattan Project

In the third-season premiere, Betty is finally ready to make a life-altering decision after fielding proposals from Gio and Henry. Meanwhile, Ignacio gets a new job at a fast-food restaurant, and Daniel deals with the fallout of Wilhelmina’s power play. Lindsay Lohan guest stars as Kimberly, Betty’s high-school nemesis. Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa appear as themselves.
